Q. What is the normal body temperture of a large parrot?
Asked by Grace H - Wed May 17 21:37:23 2006 - - 2 Answers - 0 Comments
A. That really depends on what kind of parrot you have, most birds need to maintain a temperature between 102 F to 107, so 105 F is the median average temperature for a large bird like a parrot. They usually maintain that heat with their feathers, and almost any website or parrot owner you talk to is going to tell you that if they aren't around 104 - 105F in body temp you've got a sick parrot on your hands.

Q. What is normal body temperture in C ?
Asked by PAULINE S - Wed Nov 1 07:43:00 2006 - - 11 Answers - 0 Comments
A. Nomal body temperature is considered to be 98.6 degrees F. To convert F to C, the formula is pretty simple: (Temp in F - 32) x 5/9 So, normal body temperature is 37 degrees Celsius

Is a woman's body temperture hotter than normal when she is pregnant?
Q. I feel hot, hot, hot! So much hotter than I've ebver been before. I know it's summer and the heat had been terrible but this is ridiculious! I can't stay cool enough, it seems.
Asked by Smokinj - Wed Aug 2 05:15:25 2006 - - 7 Answers - 0 Comments
A. You feel hotter because you have more blood running through your body, and your metabolism increases. It's also due to all the extra fluids and weight you've retained. I just had my baby in June, and MAN I was HOT all the time! On average, a very pregnant woman typically feels about 20 degrees hotter than everyone else. Something my husband could never understand, lol! Your body will start going back to normal a few weeks after the baby is born. Try and stay cool, and remember, you're almost done!

A. eat yogurts part of a balanced diet. It has healthy bacteria that your body needs and it keep the body cool when warm. it might help. you also need to consider your age, if ur young it could be connected to puberty and if ur old if could be connected to the menapause. Have you started/stopped any medication? - u could be suffering from from a side effect. hope it helps.

My dad isrunning a low temperture for 10 days with Tylenol. No symptoms of cold. how to treat, is it normal?
Q. He has been put under tylenol. But has been running for low tempeture for 10 days. Initially, he is suspected of phemonia, but chest x ray showed nothing. He doesn't have any complaints of pain in the body except headeache. Feels weak, muscle pain, is this normal? Is this flu or inflamation in the body? What is the best way to diagnose or treat it? He is in the early 70s. Thank you for your tips.

A. I say take him to a doctor right away. I'm not even near being a professional but that doesn't sound good.

Low body temperture?
Q. Since I was born my average body temperature has been 96.2 (2 degrees lower than average). However, a couple of days ago I started having trouble breathing. I took my temp and it was around 96.8 (which is pretty normal for me). After more problems my husband dragged me to the hospital where my temp was 96.7. They found absolutely nothing wrong with me and sent me home and the next day my temp was down to 94.3 (according to research, that's moderate hypothermia). I called my doctor who had no ideas other than to do everything to keep my temp over 95. It's been a day and I'm struggling to do such. Even after a hot bath, loads of hot tea and blankets and sweaters I'm just staying at 97 and I feel like I'm overheating. However, if I stop… [cont.]

Why do we get the chills when we have a fever?
Q. I'm sick right now with a fever and just wondering why do I feel cold even though my body temperture is above normal?
Asked by Chocobo123 - Sat May 1 17:40:16 2010 - - 4 Answers - 0 Comments
A. Body temp is maintained by the brain as it compares the temp of your blood to a set temp that you should be - this is how you determine how hot/cold you are. In a fever your body sends signals which raise this set temp to raise your body temp (and try and kill the bug that's making you sick) however your brain is now saying that your blood is not hot enough (even though it is raised) and so you feel cold. Hope that helps EDIT: Please ignore the statements saying that it is due to the contrast difference between you and the air - this is not true, you would still be cold in a hot room with a fever!

A. With your body temperature being that high, I would say you are sick. Even if the house is 90 degrees, it wouldn't raise your body temperature over its normal unless you are doing physical activities. You should let your mom know, take some tylenol, and drink lots of fluids to help. Hopefully you only have a fever and nothing else. Feel better :o)

do people with low blood have low body tempertures?
Q. my body temperture is at 97.4 and goes down to 97.1 and back up again...is that normal
Asked by talkalot - Tue Feb 28 22:42:42 2006 - - 5 Answers - 0 Comments
A. I dont think so. I think theres no connection between low blood pressure and low body temperatures. Our body's temperature goes up when we are having fever. Therefore,it doesnt mean that low blood pressure people wont have fever. If they have fever, their temperature will go up as well.Similarly to high blood pressure people, when they have no fever, their body temperature will stay as normal as any low blood pressure person. But if you are worried, do consult a doctor, ok?

Can your period be determined by exercising or am i pregnant?
Q. me and my boy friend had sex on the day i suspected that i ovulated. The fallowing week we thought i was pregnant and i had a lot of the symptoms. Im 17 and i went to camp recently and exercised more than usually. Out there i felt way more tired than normal and started my period a little later than suspected. It lasted for about 3 days like a normal period but very light. For the next two days i was like spotting normal blood and then went to brown. i am now still feeling sick, headaches, dizzy, sickish, constipated, and my body temperture has not gone down. but my breast have reduced swelling and bloating has reduced too. is it still possible that im pregnant

A. I doubt it. Why don't you take a test? BTW, I hope you two are completely prepared to raise a baby without any assistance from your parents or the taxpayers considering that you're having sex on the days you think you ovulated. A large part of being a parent means accepting responsibility for your children, financially, emotionally and in every other way.

If I have bronchitis, how long should i stay home from school?
Q. I am in high school and stayed home today because i had a bad cough, chest pain and pressure and a fever (100.4 F). I went to the doctor earlier and she diagnosed it as bronchitis, and gave us a prescription for ZPack. I will strart the antiobiotic this evening. When i took my temperture an 1 hr ago, it was 100.0 F, which is high considering my normal body temeperture is pretty low (96.4 F). So I guess what i am asking is do you think it would be acceptable for me to go to school tommorrow? or should i take another day off?
Asked by CoCo <3 - Mon Sep 28 15:20:55 2009 - - 2 Answers - 1 Comments
A. You should wait until the fever is gone and the coughing subsides. Most likely, you will need another day off. You have to be careful about bronchitis - you can start feeling OK while you are still very sick. If you over-do it before the infection is gone, the symptoms can return and be even worse than the first time, and rushing things also increases the odds of having the bronchitis morph into pneumonia.

Confused about Body temp variances, any ideas are appreciated?
Q. I started taking my BBT orally a month ago. It was 97.8 until CD40 (very irregular periods, don't know when AF'll come again, but maybe soon because boobs are sore), then went up to 98.5 on CD 41 and stayed there until this morning, CD 49. This morning, it was 99.0, and to go from 98.5, which is already higher than normal, to 99.0 seemed like a big jump in a day, so I figured I'm catching something because I have had a stuffy nose for the last few days (though absolutely no other cold symptoms, I feel fine). To verify this, I got a second thermometer today so that I can start taking vaginal temps to see if there is a difference. I took my temperture orally during the middle of the day after watching tv for a little while, and it was 98.6 [cont.]
Asked by allyours.honey - Sat Jul 12 13:19:02 2008 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments
A. When you take your temperature orally, it should be 98.6 (normal). If you take it under your armpit (which is NOT recommended for TTC), it will be 97.6, one degree lower. If you take it internally, (vaginally or rectally), it will be one degree higher, 99.6. You should not switch from oral to vaginal in the middle of the cycle, so make sure you continue with the oral until you get a period again. Switching from one to the other, as you've seen, will show you different temperatures which will make it hard to interpret your chart. Good luck!
